A Facebook Conversation

Me:

Hey! Did you enjoy today?

Amore:

Hello. Oh yes! It was great fun. You are quite funny.

Me:

You were even laughing at my lamest jokes.

Amore:

I don’t think so…What are you up to?

Me:

I was thinking about something.

Amore:

What?

Me:

Nothing.

Amore:

Come on. You can tell me. We have known each other for more than ten years now.

Me:

And you noticed my humor now.

Amore:

Well, you were never much of a talker in school, maybe college suits you.

Me:

So, you are lucky that we are in the same college now. You get to know me…well at least my humor.

Amore:

Come on, stop taunting. You know that you were a weird little kid in school. Always busy with your daydreaming and a small group of your friends.

Me:

And you were a Miss Diva, the know it all and the loud mouth funny girl whom everyone adores.

Amore:

Haha… Okay. Okay. I am feeling bad now. Cut it out. I will give my best to understand this weird little kid more now. Happy?

Me:

Very.

Amore:

So, Tell me how the fuck did you get so handsome?

Me:

Excuse Me.

Amore:

Well, I mean you were cute and all. But the beard and mustache really suit you.

Me:

Umm…Thank you.

Amore:

Don’t flatter yourself. You are not that smart also. It’s just… You know.

Me:

I think someone has a crush on me.

Amore:

Haha… Very funny!!

Me:

I know right? I don’t know what happened? Puberty may be…

Amore:

Yes!! Puberty…Haha…

Me:

Well, I need to tell you something, you looked very pretty today, I tried telling you this when we meet but I was bit shy.

Amore:

So, the weird little kid still alive inside… Haha… well, anyways, thank you… And a bit of advice you can tell a girl on her face that she looked beautiful. she won’t mind in fact might even give you a kiss.

Me:

I will try that the next time we meet.

Amore:

Sure.

Me:

Can I tell you something?

Amore:

What?

Me:

Okay. I don’t know why but it was really easy talking to you.

Amore:

Haha… Thank you. I am glad you were comfortable with me. I am sure you felt safe with me.

Me:

Ohhh… Not in that way. I mean, You are just so opposite to me. I’m the introvert and you the extrovert.

Amore:

Oh yes. You are right. We will make a nice couple.

Me:

Haha… Oh yes. If you ever proposed me.

Amore:

Me? Don’t you know it’s a boys job to propose?

Me:

And who made this rule?

Amore:

God did.

Me:

Okay… Well, if that is the case then,

Me:

I think I like you, I want to see you smile every day and be the reason for your smile. I want to grow old with you. I think I am in love with you.

“And then your father switched off his mobile and slept, too scared to even wait for me to reply.” Said Amore reading messages from an old facebook account, while her six years old daughter sat on her lap, laughing pointing at her dad. While the dad sips on his evening tea recalling the wonderful twelve years of the journey with the love of his life.
